Happy Wheels, by title alone, seems like a game title with talking cars that sing songs together and drive under rainbows, collecting cookie coins in the process. Instead, is amongst the goriest games, if not the goriest game, that we have played on my iPad.

Now, mind you, I don’t actively find gory games, so people who are “Modern Zombie Slayer Shooter Soldier 3” veterans won’t bat an eye at Happy Wheel’s carnage, but those of you who are searching for a game title to offer your children to keep them quiet as you grocery shop may wish to go on looking.

Using that taken care of, Happy Wheels is really a silly physics-focused game who had me chuckling in the misfortunes that this protagonist was enduring at my hands.

The game is broken apart into level sets and every level set utilizes a different character. I can’t reply to a lot more than the default character because he is currently the only person available. I have got the experience that additional characters may come at a cost, as currently the base game costs nothing, though with ads.

The entirety of revolves around moving a guy with a Segway through gauntlet of deadly traps as well as a finish line. Every one of the (currently) 15 levels host another layout and a lot of surprises to capture players off-guard. The protagonist can suffer an impressive level of bodily harm to boot, allowing players to continue their attempt long after a normal person could have passed out of the sheer shock of having their limbs ripped out.

Players even have the capability to crawl onwards, after their Segway has broken, with floppy limb controls that reminded me of QWOP. It’s all a bloody mess, but it’s ridiculous enough to where it’s simply funny.

While Happy Wheels can be a completely playable game, the game’s physics are still rough throughout the edges. About 50 % of reasons why I’d fail a level was as the physics engine acted up, and glitched, contributing to me obtaining some horrid injury. It is actually silly initially, but when you’re seeking to actually accomplish something, the physics are more of an obstacle in comparison to the actual obstacles themselves.

Overall though, for a free game, Happy Wheels is definitely worth exploring, even just for that free laughs your initial playthrough will give you. Don’t expect any deep learning curves 87dexrpky master, and realize that success is essentially based on how much the physics engine decides it loves or hates you during that particular run, and could keep you entertained with the day.
